The Slide Brothers will team with mentor Robert Randolph to appear on tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Randolph co-produced The Slide Brothers’ debut album, Robert Randolph Presents: The Slide Brothers, which came out last week.
Other noteworthy musical appearances on TV this week include Japandroids’ visit to Conan tonight, Father John Misty making his Tonight Show debut on Wednesday and reggae legend Ziggy Marley guesting on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Thursday.

Nice press but you got backwards who is the “Mentor” and who is the “Mentee”. Althought Robert may be the best known of the bunch right now and has produced this new CD, he has brought together for the CD (and these TV appearances) his OWN mentors to participate. There is a lineage here and Calvin Cooke was mentor to the Campbell Brothers who in turn mentored Robert. (You did notice that Calvin Cooke was center stage, did you not? That was not accidental…)
