Dropkick Murphys Playing Final Show at Boston’s Avalon

Beantown’s Dropkick Murphys have announced another round of dates for a North American tour behind the band’s new release, The Meanest Of Times.
The band kicked off its tour September 14 at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, R.I., and will spend the rest of the month hitting clubs and theatres on the East Coast and in the Midwest.
Stops include Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio (September 19), Toad’s Place in Richmond, Va. (September 22) and Revolution in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (September 25).
On September 30, Dropkick Murphys will return to its hometown of Boston to play the final concert at The Avalon, which is being torn down along with another club, Axis, to make room for a new venue.
Joining the band for the evening will be former DKM guitarist Rick Barton with his new band, Everybody Out!
The second section of the trek launches November 2 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, and includes stops at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene, Ore. (November 5), Myth in Minneapolis (November 11), Bogart’s in Cincinnati (November 13), Kool Haus in Toronto (November 16), and Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vt. (November 18).
Tickets for both legs of Dropkick Murphys’ tour are available through Ticketmaster.
Times, which hit the streets yesterday, is the Celtic punk band’s sixth full-length release and the first on the group’s own label, Born & Bred Records.
