A Good Friday For Black Crowes In London Following Tour Debut-Heavy Performance in Glasgow on Wednesday

HT faves The Black Crowes’ Lay Down With Number 13 World Tour continued on Wednesday night at 02 Academy in Glasgow, Scotland and then on Friday night in London, England for the first of two shows at HMV Forum that mark the end of the tour’s first leg. Each show contained a handful of tour debuts as the group works new lead guitarist Jackie Greene into the mix.

Thursday’s performance in Glasgow saw the tour’s first versions of the Joe Cocker cover Space Captain, Oh Josephine off 2008’s Warpaint LP, Garden Gate off 2009’s Before The Frost… album, Sometimes Salvation off 1992’s The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion and the Ry Cooder cover Boomer’s Story. Last night in London saw the Crowes deliver tour debut performances of Before The Frost…’s Good Morning Captain, covers of Little Feat’s Willin’ and Traffic’s Feelin’ Alright, Seeing Things from 1990’s Shake Your Money Maker and in honor of the holiday Good Friday off of 1996’s Three Snakes and One Charm.
