Rolling Stones Announce 9-Date North American Tour & Hyde Park

Following a fun, and seemingly expensive, guerrilla marketing campaign rock royalty The Rolling Stones have finally announced their first real tour since 2007. The North American segment of the “50 & Counting Tour” starts off at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on a date to be determined depending on the hockey playoffs and is currently set to come to a close at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on June 18th, before the Stones head overseas to play Hyde Park in London on July 6th.

Perhaps the most accomplished act still performing these days, The Rolling Stones celebrated their 50th Anniversary is 2012 by playing a series of five guest-filled shows. In addition to jamming with former band members Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman, the Stones also welcomed a bevy of superstars such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Bruce Springsteen to guest at various points during the 50th Anniversary run. The only guest revealed for this tour will be Mick Taylor.

The Rolling Stones last played Hyde Park in 1969 as part of the Stones in the Park free outdoor festival that took place on July 5th, 1969. Not only was the 1969 Hyde Park show guitarist Mick Taylor’s first gig with the Stones, but it went down just two days after Brian Jones’ death. The dates announced today come in addition to the group’s previously revealed headlining slot of this summer’s Glastonbury Festival on June 29th.

  1. I love the Stones and was very excited for the announcement. But $185 for nose bleed seats on a Tuesday night? No thanks.

  2. Its the stones man! Although I 100% agreee and would never paay that much unless for like a birthday gift or something Im actually surprised there are not more money. Stubhub will have a field day with this

  3. We baby boomers are the ones that made them rich and famous one $25 ticket at a time. Now, thousands of bucks each ticket, just to see them sweat? They are breaking my heart.
