Video: Yellowbirds – Young Men Of Promise

With the dissolution of HT faves Apollo Sunshine back in 2010, Sam Cohen picked up the pieces and channeled his creative energies into a new project he dubbed Yellowbirds. The psychedelic folk-rock act, who put out one of our favorite albums of 2011, will release their highly-anticipated sophomore full-length effort Songs From The Vanished Frontier on May 28 via the Royal Potato Family imprint. For the music video for the record’s acid-drenched lead single – Young Men Of Promise – Cohen created another home-spun animated clip using cut-out images created by artist Kara Smith.

Yellowbirds have a handful of upcoming dates, including a weekly residency throughout the month of June at the Rockwood Music Hall’s Stage 2 on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
