Umphrey’s Offers Front Porch Sandwich @ sUMmer school

All this week HT faves Umphrey’s McGee have been holding their 2nd sUMmer school event at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, New York. The band has provided paid attendees with workshops, open jams, masterclasses and a one-set rock show each night. UM hasn’t been messing around with these one-set performances, filling them with rarities, improvisation and setlist hijinks.

Monday night’s set saw rare performances of Hey Nineteen (Steely Dan) and The Fuzz as well as a famed “Jimmy Stewart” improvisation called “Final Word” re-inserted into the middle of Der Bluten Kat as it was when it was originally performed in 2005.

Tuesday night’s set saw special guest Jeff Coffin help out on a long, jammed-out The Bottom Half, UM original Higgins and a cover of Can’t You Hear Me Knocking by The Rolling Stones. Not to mention, the set opened with the fantasy sandwich of the “OG” Haunt inserted within Phil’s Farm.
