Peter Gabriel Gives Brief, Hilarious Q+A to The Guardian

Peter Gabriel

Peter Gabriel often comes across as a super-serious artiste, but he’s also pretty hilarious. (I mean, just check out some of his trademark stage moves.) And in this hilarious Q+A with The Guardian, he gets an opportunity to show off his silly side, answering a handful of softball questions with Beatles-esque wit.

When asked, “Who would play you in the film of your life?,” he responded, “King Kong.” He also notes loving the smell of a baby’s head, the book “with the pictures in it,” and the wooly mammoth (which he hopes can be brought back to life through de-extinction).

He also detailed his most embarrassing moment:

“I used to sing one song at the farthest seat from the stage. In some cases, this required me running around from the stage door to the front door to access the stairs. At one gig in Germany, the security guard refused to let me in: he could hear the band playing and thought I was trying to blag my way in.”

Gabriel released the song-swap sequel And I’ll Scratch Yours last month. He’s currently touring Europe and the UK with his “Back to Front” tour, and he recently unveiled a new song, the gorgeous “Why Don’t You Show Yourself.”
