Sturgill Simpson will continue his extensive worldwide tour this fall in support of his highly acclaimed sophomore album, Metamodern Sounds In Country Music. The tour includes a sold-out headlining show at L.A.’s The Troubadour as well as club dates throughout the Southeast, Southwest, Pacific Northwest and Midwest. The tour also includes shows supporting Zac Brown Band, Jason Isbell and Drive By Truckers. See below for complete details.
Earlier this month, a new music video from Simpson, “Life of Sin: Live at RCA Studio A,” premiered and can be seen below. Filmed by LR Baggs as part of their “Handcrafted Video Series,” the session was recorded earlier this summer on a rare day off at the legendary Nashville studio. Additional videos from the series will be released shortly.
Produced once again by friend and trusted collaborator Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Lindi Ortega, Jamey Johnson), Metamodern Sounds In Country Music was recorded live-to-tape at Nashville’s LCS studio over four days in late 2013. Of the album, Simpson comments, “Myriad worldly offerings—religion, drugs, and more—all claim to be the omnipotent universal truth, but in my experience, love is the only certainty. That’s what this record is about.”
