Martin Scorsese will direct a biopic of The Ramones which is being primed for release in 2016 to mark the 40th anniversary of the band’s debut album, according to reports.
Jeff Jampol and Dave Frey, who co-manage the band’s estate, say the film is just one project being lined up to celebrate the group in advance of the 40th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Ramones, which was released in 1976. All four original members of the Ramones are now dead following the July passing of Tommy Ramone.
