One Night Only: Bill Hicks In Movie Theaters

Comedy legend Bill Hicks left an indelible mark on the world of stand up. Often cited by comedy aficionados in the same breath as George Carlin and Richard Pryor, Hicks rose quickly to become one of the foremost voices in comedy before he tragically died from pancreatic cancer in 1994 at the age of 32.

Despite his young death, he left a legacy that not only continues to influence but continues to be relevant. Hicks pointed his wit and his ire at all aspects of society, drawing attention to the hypocrisy of government, people, and everything in between. The points he made are as salient today as they were two decades ago, and every year more and more people discover the vast body of work left by this remarkable mind.

On April 27, 2015, audiences will get the chance to see Hicks as they’ve never seen him before, as Fathom Events brings one of his most legendary routines to the big screen for one night only.

“Comedy Dynamics Presents: Bill Hicks” brings the comedian’s “Relentless” to theaters, as well as previously unseen material and home videos of the comedian in his prime. Known to Hicks fans as one of his most remarkable sets, “Relentless” finds the comedian skewering everything from non-smokers to The Gulf War to musicians against drugs, and remains as hilarious today as it was when it was first aired in 1992.

“Working with the Hicks legacy is an honor for all of us at Comedy Dynamics and we are thrilled to partner with Fathom Events to bring his work to the big screen,” said Brian Volk-Weiss, President of Production at Comedy Dynamics.

Tickets and participating theater information can be found through the Fathom Events website; locations are available nationwide, so there’s a good chance you’ll find a participating theater near you. Whether you’re a Bill Hicks superfan or you’ve never heard him before, this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Hicks like he’s never been seen before.
