Derek & Susan: Hide The Groupies!

The jamband world’s Brangelina — or Bennifer, or whoever the devil it is you kids obsess over these days — are keeping it all in the family…

Cutest Couple Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi announced a joint tour today:

Derek & Susan are proud to announce their Soul Stew Revival tour, a special summer outing marking the first time the couple has toured as one band, sharing a familiar cast of musicians including the entire dTb ensemble plus Ron Holloway on saxophone from Susan’s touring unit, and adding Derek’s younger brother Duane Trucks on second drum kit. Fans can expect a mixture of material from both artists’ repertoire along with new songs worked up especially for this tour. There will be a preview performance at the Wanee Fest in April with the added bonus of the dTb’s NYE horn section! The tour will consist of a limited run of dates this summer in the west before the dTb gets cranking again on their own for a Canadian tour in late June, and one additional Soul Stew date in Aspen later in September. On sale ticket information can be found on the dTb Tour page, with the first dTb Ticketing presale starting this Wed 3/21 for Denver, San Diego, & Los Angeles.

Somewhere Warren’s little lady Stef Scamardo is learning how to sing so the two can book a rival tour. Derek rejoins the Allman Brothers Band tonight at the Beacon Theater after a long stint with Eric Clapton’s band.

  1. Derek is the fucking man.

I hope ‘Angel from Montgomery’ is incorporated into their repertoire, Susan sounds great on that tune.

  2. As the site’s editor I’m clearly on board with the “Hide the Groupies” headline, but I’m thinkin’ these two would much rather have some MFF threeways and Eiffel Towers and trains comin’ through and the like on this tour. They’ve probably done it all before, but this is their best chance to live kinky. I mean, I’d hit ’em both.

Derek really is the man, though, and Susan’s no slouch. This is gonna be a sicky sicky show, confirmed.

  3. Spot on with this write-up, I actually assume this web site needs far more consideration. I抣l most likely be once more to read far more, thanks for that info.
