The High Seas: Jam Cruise 6 Lineup

The best advertising for Jam Cruise usually comes from past attendees. Literally any time I talk to someone who’s been on Jam Cruise they only have amazing things to say about the experience. Most people who attend one Jam Cruise attend another. What’s not to love? A trip to paradise during the doldrums of January with a bunch of like-minded people featuring great jambands. I just need to find me a sugar mama to pay my fare. Any takers? I look great in a Speedo.

The best parts of Jam Cruise are all the sit-ins that occur between the artists. We’re setting the over/under on Warren Haynes sit-ins is 6…per day. Other only-on-Jam Cruise experiences include multiple workshops, panel discussions, and all sorts opportunities to interact with all the musicians on board. Look for another batch of artist additions a week before reservations open to the public on June 4th. Prices begin at $899 for quad occupancy and do not include airfare. The full lineup follows below:

Warren Haynes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Funky Meters, Yonder Mountain String Band, Galactic, Dark Star Orchestra, Soulive, Toots and the Maytals, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Everyone Orchestra conducted by Matt Butler featuring Jon Fishman, Steve Kimock & Jeff Coffin, Perpetual Groove, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Lotus, New Monsoon, Toubab Krewe, The Motet, DJ Harry, and special guest Karl Denson

  1. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is gonna be fun as hell…but if you take this lineup off the boat and put it on a bill for, say, Langerado, that’s a pretty underwhelming lineup. Still, half the appeal is the boat, the open waters, the interaction with the bands and musicians, and I’m sure it’s a helluva sick time. Just not gaga over the announcement. Maybe if they added Keller Williams, then it’d be a real festival!

  2. Let’s be honest, there’s a 0% chance Keller misses this one. I am picturing him running with a rickshaw full of all his guitars and getting to the dock just as the boat pulls away. He stares forlornly into the distance, pulls out a guitar and loops a sad little melody while Warren waves at him from the railing.
