My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James will play a rare solo gig in New York City on Sunday, August 25th as part of second annual Revenge of the Book Eaters event at the Beacon Theater. The show will be hosted by The Daily Show’s Demetri Martin, with proceeds benefiting 826NYC’s free writing programs for children. A.C. Newman of the New Pornographers, Feist and Grizzly Bear are also on the bill. Tickets go onsale today at 10 am, which is, like, now.
