Ronald Isley, draped in fur and holding a cane, couldn’t do a better job embodying a really effed-up middle aged crisis. But what’s more peculiar is how such a legendary artist with a timeless, easily recognizable voice, can so quickly turn his back on vocal prowess in exchange for ladylike screeches and the type of hypersexual over-pronunciation that’s about as appealing as the thought of Whoopi Goldberg in a swimsuit competition.

In the end, the song wins out because of the ridiculous video. Like R. Kelly and Mr. Biggs, it’s quite frightening, but in the best way possible (so, naturally, I’mits number one fan). Plus, we get to experience a nostalgic look back at the earliest form of “casual texting.” Biggs got a two-way, y’all!

Great piece. Still, you missed the chance to bring up the even more ridicuous, more theatrical, more over the top, Kelly/Isley colaboration “Down Low.” Even the song itself is vastly superior to “Contageous” in my opinion.
