With 2015 clearly being the year of the biggest Grateful Dead revival interest to date, the band has decided to release a HUGE  80-disc Grateful Dead box-set entitled Thirty Trips Around The Sun that will be released by Rhino Records on September 18. This unique box-set will be limited to 6,500 numbered CD sets and 1,000 lightning bolt shaped USB drives. This release is priced at less than the cost of a ticket to one of the Chicago Fare Thee Wells shows (secondary market) at $699.95 and includes a bonus vinyl 45 with a 1965 version of “Caution (Do Not Stop on Tracks)” A-side and “Box of Rain” from the final song played on July 9, 1995 at Soldier Field in Chicago as the B-side. The box also comes with a 288-page book that features an extensive, career-spanning essay by Nick Meriwether, who oversees the Dead archives at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Another unique collectors items and one of a kind find will be a scroll that displays and illustrates how the band’s live repertoire has changed through their history. Head on over here to preorder the set..
