Sure we may call this column MP3 Boot Camp, but we’ll also highlight any shows that bloggers put up in a lossless format. Sadly, there aren’t many of them pumping out high-quality boots right now with the exception of NYCTaper. NYCTaper has posted 67 incredible shows on his site since May, and if anyone knows how to pull an audience tape, it’s this guy. Just this week he kicked down a Radiohead show from 2006, a Fiery Furnaces show from Saturday and a Sigur Ros show from that same night. Does this guy ever sleep?
- Did you know James Brown put out an instrumental album in 1971?
- Y’all know the doctor? Get your fill of Bayou Blues from Dr. John
- Ace loved seeing LCD Soundsystem, so check ’em out for yourselves
- Licorice Pizza highlights some of the more underrated Van Halen tunes
- This week’s Music Hole megapost contains boots from Beck, Brian Wilson, Faith No More and a buncha others
- Nazz Nomad has a mix of tunes dedicated to downtrodden Yankee fans
- If you’ve never heard any live Girl Talk, now is your chance
- Bands That Jam brings us the goods from Phil tour
- We found two killer Pink Floyd boots over at The Roadhouse
- Our good friend Pete over at Ickmusic delivers us a first-rate Bruce Springsteen show from last weekend
Finally, we found a crispy Greg Osby bootleg we just had to share with you folks. Any shows you’d like to share with us? Leave a comment below…

Sleep? Never heard of it. Can you explain this strange concept to me.
Great batch this week, Scott — I can’t decide which ones I want to download first, not a throwaway in the bunch.
Great work my friend, I love your recordings

HFTB is a big fan NYC Taper too.
As for other listening suggestions there is a great sounding Dr. Dog show that popped up on etree recently from when they opened for Wilco. Definitely grab it….
