Welcome Back to the Stage: The Word

Back before mostly everyone besides executives for the major sports leagues grew tired of Robert Randolph, the frontman put aside his Family Band in favor of a short-lived project that garnered nothing but insanely positive reviews. Joined by Chris Chew, Cody and Luther Dickinson and the awesome John Medeski, The Word instantly became one of the best bands on the scene…and for good reason.

And now The Word is back — well, for four special year-end shows. I guess I just had some plans for December 27th made for me.

We have secured a limited amount of pre-sale tickets to offer fans that will go on sale this Saturday, November 3 at 10am EST. Tickets will go on sale to the general public next Friday November 9th.

Dec 26 – Hartford, CT – The Webster Theatre
Dec 27 – New York, NY – Terminal 5
Dec 28 – Philadelphia, PA – Electric Factory
Dec 29 – Washington, DC – 9:30 Club

    The Word, much like The Itch (krasno, deitch, medeski) was a sick, stinking filthy lineup, will draw me into nyc on 12/27…

    without sounding like a potty question, does anyone know if randolph sits and stands for this lineup?

  3. Saw the Word back at Irving years ago, solid set, but at the time the Family Band was on fire!

    Oh and he sat all set, but he sat all family band sets at that point as well…
