Perhaps in honor of the Pearl Harbor attacks, my colleagues and I spent the evening of December 7th singing karaoke in a private room on New York’s Lower East Side. The highlight of the rare festivities came in the form of the Diff’rent Strokes theme ensemble number, but the proudest moments of individual brilliance manifested themselves in my duet with Slack LaLane co-founder Donnie Fiedler — an inspired, only partially ironic version of the greatest karaoke tune of all-time: Under Pressure.

I played the part of Bowie, just to get that baritone “It’s the terror of knowing what this world is about” line all for myself. Fantastic. But now it’s time to take a look back at the week that was here at Hidden Track…
- Stewart Copeland doesn’t care for fat chicks, even if they’re powerful
- A golfer wins and praises the Dead — does his caddy sling bunk molly?
- Hillary Clinton kicked down to get down on the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tour
- Cactus in Costa Rica: Mike Gordon’s got some post-New Year’s plans
- We announced our winner of the Great Phish Vegas Giveaway of 2007
- Martin Sexton spreads his Seeds, but not in the porn facial kind of way
- Here’s the question on my mind all week: Who is Johnny? (she said)
- Andrew Bird kicks off his shoes at the Beacon Theatre in NYC
- The Roots are cooler than most people, even while wincing in agony
- The B List brings us the 10 best Super Bowl halftime performances
- And get your iPod in the mood for love with these downloads: Grousing The Aisles, MP3 Boot Camp, Stormy Mondays, and the Friday Mix Tape
Anyway, I’m off to my 10-year high school reunion in a few hours. Also fantastic.

Pardon me, but I believe I am the best karaoke tune ever.
