Briefly: Van Halen and Led Zeppelin Go Bust

Two major nuggets of information were just called into the Hidden Track offices, so we figured we’d share immediately. First off is the Sunday Mirror’s report that Robert Plant has turned down a £100 million offer to tour with Led Zeppelin. Apparently Plant wants to focus on his collaboration with Alison Krauss.

The other news comes from TMZ, who are reporting that the Van Halen reunion is dunzo. Hey, we’re surprised they made it through as many shows as they did. Hopefully this is just one of those silly TMZ rumors, because we’d like to see VH at MSG. TMZ blames the implosion on Eddie Van Halen’s issues. Sweet.

  1. huh? plant turned down that much paper for creative street cred?

damn! krause must be some sort of musical muse!

Very happy the Van Halen deal is dunzo…because they skated a full tour w/ no major tabloid issues. Stop when the gettin’s good.

  2. That really sucks if it’s true that plant said that! I really wanted them to go on tour, but who knows? It could still just be a rumor for all we know.

  3. The VH tour has been postponed as of right now.

I think Plant’s just saying there will be no LZ tour to sell more tix for his current tour. I think once that’s over, he may reconsider.
