AfterNews: Dead Symphony in Baltimore

Composer Lee Johnson unveiled a recorded version of his orchestral tribute to the music of the Dead, aka Dead Symphony #6, to raves from Deadheads everywhere. Yet, everyone wondered “when can we hear this piece live?” We’ve finally got an answer. On August 1, Jerry Garcia’s birthday, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will present the live world premiere of Dead Symphony #6.

Does it get any better than hearing a symphony “jam” on Stella Blue or hearing a string section play the melody of Here Comes Sunshine? Tickets for this one-night only performance are available through the BSO Ticket Office at price points between $20 and $60.
