Tea Leaf Green: Coffee Bean Brown Comes Alive

[rating=3.50]

San Francisco rock band, Tea Leaf Green is known for their incendiary, psychedelic rock shows and skillfully crafted songs.  Over the years, they have developed an alter ego band with the namesake, Coffee Bean Brown.  Coffee Bean Brown is known for playing impromptu shows that display their acoustic side while focusing more on singer/songwriter Trevor Garrod’s timeless songwriting skills.  These shows are special for the few Tea Leaf Green fans who attend and now they are offering one of their most intimate shows available with clear, crispy quality.

Coffee Bean Brown Comes Alive is a live album recorded at a surprise show before an small audience in New York City’s East Village at Mo Pitkens.  "Rattlin" displays Trevor Garrod’s incredible soulful tenor coupled with his accomplished piano work.  "Let Us Go" features impressive fret work by guitarist Josh Clark while bringing Garrod’s harp work to the forefront.  This may be their acoustic/softer side, but these boys sure know how to get down and boogie.  The gem of this release is "Drink of Streams" which showcases Garrod’s earthy lyrics and an eloquent arrangement by the band with a climatic finish.  Tea Leaf Green fans will be estatic to get an official release of the rollicking live favorite," I Got No Friends in Arizona." Tea Leaf Green have been on the verge of being the next rock band to hit it big, Coffee Bean takes them a sip closer.
