We’ve finally got onsale information for the Dead and Allman Brothers’ Change Rocks benefit concert for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at Noon through Ticketmaster.com.
Most ducats for the show on October 13 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA will run you $50, but if you’ve got money to burn there are also $2,500 VIP tickets available. We’re not sure what you get for the extra money, but hopefully it’s a picture of Obama in Bobby’s Jorts. Penn State students can purchase $30 tickets by showing a student ID.
As you may notice from the poster above, the show bills each musician individually as opposed to using the band names. What’s up with that?

Maybe because it’s showing each invidual supports obamania rather than just the bands?
I guess, but didn’t Bobby, Mickey and Phil perform as The Dead at the last Obama benefit? What changed?
YOU HIPPIES STAY AWAY FROM MY PLAYERS!!! CAN’T HAVE ANY MORE A THEM SMOKIN’ THE GRASS!!!!
Then perhaps contractual things, maybe they could get away with playing if it’s billed differently without having to pay their crew? Who knows…
no Herring…?
