For one of my first Friday Mix Tapes, I picked songs featuring names in the title. For this week’s Mix Tape, we’re doing another compilation of songs with names in the title. This time around all of the tracks are live versions.
We turn to Trey Anastasio for our first track – Simple Twist Up Dave off of the underrated Original Boardwalk Style. Next, Death Cab For Cutie gives us Cath… from their recent live iTunes EP. After that, we’ve got a smokin’ version of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s Rosalita from a concert in Tempe back in 1980. Following Rosie, let’s feast our ears on a glorious Gideon taken from the soundboard recording of My Morning Jacket’s instant classic from Radio City Music Hall. To end our mix, we turn to The Clash for Tommy Gun off of Live At Shea Stadium and conclude with moe.’s Brent Black from this past moe.down in Turin, New York.
