Pullin’ ‘Tubes: Silly Rabbit Trix

We have to give credit where credit is do with today’s ‘Tubes selection. Six months back when the HT Staff dropped their favorite albums from the first half of the year, Rupert piqued my interest by touting The Midnight Organ Fight from the curiously named Scottish band Frightened Rabbit. While the album is a bit of a grower, I was immediately drawn in by their Neutral Milk Hotel meets Counting Crows sound – I bet that’s the first time those two acts have ever been used in same sentence to describe a band – and have been obsessing over it for the last few months.

There is just something about lead singer Scott Hutchinson’s Scottish brogue along with his brutally honest and emotional lyrics that keeps you coming back to this album over and over. Let’s check out this live performance of Good Arms vs. Bad Arms from a show at The Independent in San Francisco…

Frightened Rabbit return to the States early next year for a handful of headlining shows, with the some of the HT staff eying up their January 17 show at the Bowery Ballroom.
