Friday Mix Tape: A Long Week Concludes

I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t be happier to put the last full work week of 2008 behind me. I’ve been burning the candles at both ends and my tank is near empty. Before I take off, I’ve got more one more post to do: Friday Mix Tape. I went personal with this one by picking six songs to help brighten my mood. Hopefully they’ll brighten your afternoon as well.

Let’s start with a majestic My Morning Song from the Black Crowes’ July tour stop in Philadelphia. We continue with Lotus covering Sympathy From The Devil at their Halloween show. David Byrne gives us And She Was before Blind Faith slows things down with a live version of Can’t Find My Way Home. We keep the live tracks going with a smokin’ The Spirit Of Radio from a Rush concert in ’94. For the last track we’ve got Bruce Springsteen covering Rev. Gary Davis’ Samson and Delilah.

  1. Downloading now…thanks Scotty !

I never knew Lotus had covered the Stones…..and speaking of my favorite trio from Canada, I think I should add Exit Stage Left to the list of best Live Albums.
