I’ve often describe Matt’s sound as vintage. Maybe it’s his smokey, sepia-drenched, croaky voice or his odd guitar tunings, but his music sounds as if its been soaked in a patina that conjures up a long lost era of Americana music, while still sounding every bit contemporary.
