For the last three summers Brooklyn’s McCarren Park Pool had been hosting a mix of pay and weekly all-day free shows every Sunday dubbed The Pool Parties by promoter JellyNYC. When plans were announced to turn the long abandoned site back into the legitimate public pool it once was, it left many wondering if and where the shows would continue in 2009.
Well fear not free show seekers. Last week, Jelly announced their return by revealing a full slate of shows at the East River State Park in Williamburg that kicks off this Sunday. Among the impressive roster of acts set to perform for free over the next eight weeks are Mission Of Burma, Dirty Projectors, Magnolia Electric Co., White Denim, Fiery Furnances, Girl Talk and Grizzly Bear.
If you’re not into spending your Sunday with a bunch of hipsters, than maybe you’ll interested in hitting one of these recently announced tours…
