Back in May of 2007, I wrote about a fantastic out-of-print concert film featuring the likes of The Police, XTC and Devo called Urgh! A Music War which hasn’t been available for over a decade. You can finally order your own copy of Urgh! thanks to Warner Archives’ new service in which the company burns copies of out-of-print classics from their vault on-demand.
Gotta love the concept behind the service which should hopefully lead to more hard-to-find concert films being made available.
Let’s take a quick look at what else is happening…
- Pitchfork details the social history of the MP3 format
- Elle lists the 12 Greatest Female Guitar Players [via TDS]
- Greg Kot reviews last night’s Pearl Jam concert in Chicago
- BV shares pictures, videos and the setlist from NIN in NYC
- Tea Leaf Green won a ASYM award as best grassroots band
- JamBase presents photos & a review of Summer Meltdown
Finally, Dweezil Zappa recently let it slip that the next Zappa Archive release will contain a concert from 1976 featuring Terry Bozzio and “a female singer.” Kill Ugly Radio is on the case and seems to have figured out what show Dweezil was talking about. We hope they’re right!

Also noteworthy this week… looks like the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s will replace the Beasties at ACLFest…
That show looks awesome.
Purple Lagoon Intro, Purple Lagoon Reprise, and a Purple Lagoon Outro.
Sort of reminiscent of the good ol’ Phish Tweezerfest.
