Televised Tune: On the Tube This Week

The Coen brothers fantastic flick O Brother, Where Art Thou? (CMT, Wednesday at 9PM) isn’t about music per se, but the soundtrack is a major part of the movie’s appeal. George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake Nelson are awesome as a trio of escaped cons in search of hidden treasure. Some of the musical highlights are Gillian Welch’s I’ll Fly Away, Harry McClintock’s Big Rock Candy Mountain, Emmylou Harris’s Don’t Leave Nobody But The Baby and Alison Krauss’s Down to the River to Pray, among others.
