The Week That Was: 2009 Winds Down

For most, last week marked the last five-day work week of 2009. We’ve got two shortened weeks coming up which is A-OK by us. We’ve been quite prolific in 2009 and this past week was no exception as we provided a steady stream of reviews, lists and interviews from the rock world.

On Monday, Benji Feldheim told us about his experience at MMW in Chicago, Glide published their Best of the Decade list and Dan Alford shared a mix of Kimock tunes. We posted the initial New Orleans Jazz Fest lineup on Tuesday when we also heard from Stanch about the return of Old School Percy Hill and DaveO introduced the contestants for this week’s Cover Wars – Bohemian Rhapsody.

On Wednesday, Chad reviewed BuzzUniverse’s Jingle Jam, DaveO shared the best songs of the previous week and Ryan put together an interesting virtual panel on the state of the Recording Industry. Thursday usually means a new B List and this week I detailed the 10 Best Archival Releases of 2009. We also published a new Blips on Thursday featuring Lissies, Local Natives and Morningsides. Finally, we looked at Umphrey’s improvisational prowess, paid tribute to Spacewolf and profiled George Porter Jr. on Friday. Thanks for reading!
