We were hoping that this God Street Wine renaissance of sorts we’re experiencing would lead to old recordings coming out of the woodwork and thankfully that’s exactly what has happened. The latest round of gems to surface can be found on YouTube where a user named hordebands has uploaded a slew of semi-professionally shot videos from GSW’s set opening for the Spin Doctors at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY on May 8, 1992.
There were multiple cameras taping this show and whoever was directing did a nice job of mixing between the shots on these nine videos. GSW sounds great and performs a terrific blend of tunes including Goodnight Gretchen, Imogene and Driving West. God Street Wine makes their comeback on July 9 and 10 at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. While those shows are sold out, tickets remain for the group’s Irving Plaza performances on July 16 and 17 in NYC.
