Last Week’s Sauce: April 5th – 11th

Artist & Title: Mark Knopfler – Remembrance Day, Brothers In Arms
Date & Venue: 2010-04-11 Hult Center, Eugene, OR
Taper & Show Download: gotfob

As I did above, I’m becoming more fond of including two tracks from a particular show even if they were not performed in that order at the show. To give you the flavor of what Mark has going on these days, I have included one track from his most recent album Get Lucky and the Dire Straits classic Brothers In Arms that was performed in his first encore. Knopfler plays tonight in Santa Rosa, California.

Have we mentioned that Perpetual Groove won the March Madness Cover Wars yet on this site? We probably did, but just in case we forgot, PGroove played it last week to remind us. PGroove plays tomorrow at the Boulder Theater in Colorado.

Artist & Title: Ween – Your Party, Let’s Dance
Date & Venue: 2010-04-09 Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, Asheville, NC
Taper & Show Download: Brian Porter

When I saw a boat-load of Ween shows from last week up on the Live Music Archive, I sent a note to our good friend P2G to inquire what would be the best tracks to use. He informed me that David Bowie’s Let’s Dance was a new addition to the repertoire, so I selected it and the preceding tune Your Party. I edited out some crowd noise/tuning between tracks because we know your time is valuable. Ween next plays May 20th at the lovely Starland Ballroom is Sayreville, New Jersey.
