Started out of a New York City apartment in 1989 by by Chris Lombardi, Matador Records has earned a reputation as one of the most influential indie labels of the last few decades releasing albums from the likes of Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Liz Phair, Cat Power, Belle & Sebastian, The New Pornographers and Sonic Youth. Last week, the label announced that it will be celebrating its 21st anniversary in style with a weekend festival in Las Vegas that they’re dubbing the Lost Weekend. While more specifics about the event are forthcoming, we do know that it will take place from October 1-3 and will be presented by Goldenvoice and FYF Fest.
