FestivalNews: Hangout/Forecastle/moe.down

Thanks to BP’s offshore blunder, an oil spill threatens the Gulf Coast but that won’t stop the show from going on at the first annual Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival in Gulf Shores, AL this coming weekend. The promoters of the event aren’t ignoring the situation and have pledged that all profits from the festival will go toward Gulf Coast protection and clean up. If you can’t make it, you can catch the action live on iClips and sneak a peek at preparations through this webcam.

Seventy-five more acts have been added to the bill for this year’s Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY on July 9-11 including Devo, Cake, She & Him and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. You can check out the entire lineup, which includes headliners the Flaming Lips, Widespread Panic and the Drive-By Truckers and Spoon,  here.

Jambands.com reports that the first batch of moe.down 11 performers have been announced and include The Black Keys, Tortoise, Built to Spill, the Ryan Montbleau Band and The Brew. As we mentioned in March, moe.down will move locations this summer from Turin to the Gelston Castle Estate in Mohawk, NY. moe.down takes place over Labor Day Weekend and we’re sure there’s another band announcement or two in our futures.
