DMB Won’t Stay For A While

For the past 20 summers the Dave Matthews Band has hit the road hard even through the loss of sax star LeRoi Moore, so you can’t blame these road warriors for taking some time off from touring. Today, the group announced that it will take all of 2011 off before returning in 2012. This won’t effect the band’s 2010 Summer Tour which kicks off in Hartford on May 28.

Here’s the announcement from the group’s website

As we feel the excitement building for this summer, we wanted to let everyone know that after twenty years of consecutive touring, Dave Matthews Band will be taking 2011 off. We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people’s lives, and wanted to give everyone as much notice as possible.  We’re excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.

It will be interesting to see if today’s announcement pumps up ticket sales as only three of the group’s Summer ’10 concerts are currently sold out.
