Tour Dates: Matador Turns 21

As we previously reported venerable indie label Matador will celebrate their 21st anniversary in style with a three-day festival in Las Vegas which they have dubbed The Lost Weekend. The NYC-based label recently revealed the initial details for the festie, which will take place from October 1-3 at the Palms Resort & Casino, with a bill that features a veritable who’s who from the label’s 21 year history. Headlining will be the formidable foursome of Pavement, Sonic Youth, Belle & Sebastian & Guided By Voices – with their classic ’93 – ’96 lineup. Among the acts joining those heavy hitters will be Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Cat Power & The New Pornographers.

Tickets for the three-day event will go on-sale this Friday (7/9) at 9 AM PST,  with a limited amount available for $199, and then will go up to $225, along with an opportunity to reserve standard rooms at the Palms for the discounted rate of $99 per night. If you can’t make it to Vegas to help celebrate with Matador, than maybe you’ll be able to hit one of these recently announced tours…

Finally, after weeks of speculation and a fake leak on Twitter, the line up for JellyNYC’s annual Pool Parties has finally been announced. Now in its fifth year, the weekly free concert series will feature eight hipster-friendly shows featuring the likes of !!!, Deerhoof, Cut Copy, Chromeo, Delorean and many more. The parties will take place every Sunday from July 11 through August 29, and will once again return to the Williamsburg Waterfront, along with a special Block Party to take place at Brooklyn Bowl on August 1.
