Pullin’ ‘Tubes: It’s Hard To Be Humble

When you think of bands that call the borough of Brooklyn home it’s typically hipster leaning indie rock acts that immediately come to mind, and not ones that have an affinity for pedal steel guitars and booze-fueled country rock like Phosphorescent. Originally conceived by Matthew Houck as his recording moniker, over the last few years Phosphorescent has blossomed into a full band thanks in part to their fantastic Willie Nelson tribute album To Willie.

Earlier this year the alt.country band – who recently had their tour van with all their gear stolen, but then miraculously recovered a few days later – released the highly recommended album Here’s To Taking It Easy and have released this video for It’s Hard To Be Humble (When Your From Alabama) that features footage of Phosphorescent both on and off the stage…

Phosphorescent will play a hometown gig at Coco 66 in Greenpoint on August 19th before heading overseas for a string of European dates.
