Immediately after last summer’s Phish concerts at the intimate Fox Theatre in St. Louis, there was lots of talk from show attendees about the venue’s balcony shaking violently during the high energy moments of the evening. I thought perhaps the talk was a bit exaggerated but this clip displays just how crazy the swaying was as Phish rocked Character Zero…

  1. Yeah that balcony has some serious swing. I had the luck to score front row center seats in the balcony for Widespread Panic a few years ago, and once things got moving i had to hold onto my drink. It had been sitting on the railing in front of me, but was nearly sloshing out of the cup from the bouncing balcony. It really is an amazing sight to see such a large balcony moving like that at a show from the floor (i had a similar view of the balcony as this video at the Phish show), but to actually be riding the beast is somewhat terrifying, certainly scarier than most of the rides at Six Flags.
