The remaining leg of Santana’s Corazon Tour stopped in Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun Arena to a full house performing for over two hours playing all his hits and captivating the fans with his gifted guitar playing. Carlos opened the concert with a video introduction of his live Woodstock performance many years ago of his band playing the percussion intro to “Soul Sacrifice” and then preceded to walk on the stage in perfect timing of the video of playing live for the sold out crowd. His playing of “Europa (Earth’s Cry and Heaven’s Smile)” was vintage Carlos, with his fingers massaging the strings as the mesmerizing the fans fell into a trance. He had all the fans, many of them older, all on their feet dancing to “Tequila” and they continued to stay on their feet as he came out for the three encores of “Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen”, Tito Puente’s cover of “Oye Como Va”, and ending a magical night with “Toussaint L’Overture”.
