Drummer Todd Nance Leaves Widespread Panic – Duane Trucks Replaces in Athens

Founding member/drummer of Widespread Panic and Todd Nance has parted ways with Widespread Panic, according to a spokesman for the band. Nance’s spot will be filled by Duane Trucks who filled in for Nance during his personal leave of absence in September 2014 onward.  Truck’s official stint began Tuesday night (2/9/16) during the band’s hometown show at The Classic Center in Athens, Ga. that celebrated Panic’s 30th anniversary.  The news of Nance’s departure follows just after he reunited with the band for three shows at their annual Panic en la Playa destination event in Mexico. The Trucks family is quite big in the scene with Duane’s brother Derek (Trucks) in a league of his own and uncle Butch Trucks a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. Duane’s father-in law happens to be current Panic lead guitarist Jimmy Herring. Check out the set-list below of the first show of the Duane Trucks era…
