The National Extends Fall Tour

After wrapping up this month’s U.S. and Canadian shows, The National plans to spend the rest of 2010 zigzagging across the Atlantic for a few treks to Europe and a slew of brand new U.S. dates.

The Brooklyn, N.Y.-based indie rock band is touring in support of its fifth studio album, High Violet. New U.S. dates begin Sept. 12 with a performance at Musicfest NW at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland, Ore., and wrap up Oct. 18 at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver.

Additional stops include The Pageant in St. Louis (Sept. 30), Egyptian Room in Indianapolis (Oct. 2), Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 3), House Of Blues in Dallas (Oct. 8), The Marquee in Tempe, Ariz. (Oct. 14) and Fox Theater Pomona in California (Oct. 16).
