String Cheese Incident Cut Loose, Bust Out Big Covers in Eugene, OR (RECAP/PHOTOS)

Christening Oregon as their home away from home, String Cheese Incident cut loose with a strong show in Eugene, Oregon to open their two-night run at the Cuthbert Amphitheater. The first set alone featured covers of the Allman Brothers (“Jessica”), Stevie Wonder (“Boogie On Reggae Woman”), Peter Rowan (“Sweet Melinda”), and Kool & The Gang (“Hollywood Swinging”) before finishing the set up with their own “Colliding.”

The second set featured some great segues and jamming and combined strong versions of SCI originals like “Howard” and “Desert Dawn” with more covers including James Brown’s “Cold Sweat” and Bob Marley’s “Exodus” with Dwayne Anglin of The Wailers as a special guest. Finishing the night off with Jerry Garcia Band’s “Don’t Let Go” provided an appropriate cap on the evening.
