Let the Right One In Gets Picked Up by TNT
TNT is going all in on their original content. The network has reportedly landed a deal to produce a television remake of Let the Right One In, based on the Swedish novel of the same name by writer John Ajvide Lindqvist. The book has previously been adapted twice, once in the 2008 Swedish film and again in the vastly inferior American remake, Let Me In, in 2010. The vampire story will be adapted by Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis and actor-writer Brandon Boyce.
Ben Affleck Reveals The Batman Villain
Actor/writer/director/only great part about Batman v Superman Ben Affleck is hard at work on his take on a Batman solo movie. Affleck caused some waves in the geek community on Monday when he Tweeted out test footage of the DC villain Deathstroke. It was later confirmed that the villain would be the main villain in The Batman which Affleck has written and is directing. Casual fans may recognize the villain from DC’s unrelated-to-their-movies television universe after the character’s appearance in seasons one and two of Arrow on The CW.

Captain America: Civil War Directors In Talks for Massive New Production Company in China
The Russo Brothers, the team behind Captain America: Civil War and the current holders of the MCU mantel, are reportedly in talks with Chinese production company Huayi Brothers Media Corporation to form a new production studio to produce English language content geared for foreign distribution. Huayi Brothers is already one of the largest distributors of films in Asian markets, and the move represents what many believe to be the future for the business of filmmaking. The new company is said to be interested in high concept, character driven works with a focus on storytelling. The partnership lays the foundation for what might potentially be the largest distributor in the world, and is indicative of the growing power of foreign markets on the profitability of American films.

Community Favorite Set to Star in Netflix Comedy
Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men) has signed on for a new Netflix comedy about female wrestlers in the 80’s called G.L.O.W. Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black) is set to produce the comedy which is based on the real life story of a female wrestling league and will have Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange is the New Black) will act as showrunners. Brie’s character, Ruth, is said to be a fame hungry woman in 1980’s Los Angeles who finds herself front and center of the fledgling league, and her role continues her relationship with the streaming service, where the actress already lends her voice talents to the hit animated comedy BoJack Horseman. G.L.O.W.—Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling—has no premiere date as of yet.

The passing of beloved actor and comedian Gene Wilder shocked Hollywood and the internet yesterday. The star of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory died from complications arising from Alzheimer’s Disease after some time out of the spotlight. As many of us did, his celebrity friends and fans took to Twitter to express their grief.
