Snoe.down 2007: Do You Believe in Miracles?

No! This festival on the site of the 1980 Winter Olympics ain’t exactly cheap (starting at $81 for the full monty), so I take it nobody’s gonna be kicking down a ducat gratis. Buy your own ticket, Michaels, no miracles for you this time.

Snoe.down ’07, the all ages, weekend winter music festival hosted by indie-jam rockers moe., returns to beautiful Lake Placid, N.Y., March 23-25, 2007.

I know they’ve been trying to call themselves “indie-jam rockers” for a little while now, but I’m putting my foot down today. That’s a garbage tag. I think it was the great philosopher Tommy Callahan that said it best: “Don’t run away from your feelings!” For the love of God, moe., embrace your roots and your fanbase and quit trying to be liked by Williamsburg hipsters that probably think you’re lamer than FDR’s legs.

Friday and Saturday nights will feature moe. at the Olympic Center’s 1980 Rink Herb Brooks Arena. Additional bands will perform with moe. as well as at other venues throughout the weekend, including afternoons in the base lodge at Whiteface. This year’s lineup includes: performances by The Disco Biscuits, Little Feat, Brazilian Girls, The Slip, Tea Leaf Green, Vorcza, Brother’s Past, Moonboot Lover’s Peter Prince, Sam Kininger Band, Gordon Stone Band, and The Brew. Late night shows will feature Brother’s Past, Lucy Vincent, and the return of Gratefully Deadicated Sound System with more to come.

Seriously, that’s a really solid fucking lineup for a young winter festival. Sure it comes at a pretty shitty time (the NCAA tournament), but bang-for-your-buck, this might just be the most underrated festival on the calendar this year. More info as it comes…
