Briefly: No Widespread Panic in 2012?

You wouldn’t think major news about a band’s future would break in a college paper, but that’s exactly what happened today as Vanderbilt’s student paper printed a Q & A with Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann that included a discussion of the jam titan’s future…

VH: Are you at all surprised at the longevity of your success as a group?
JH: Well, next year will be our 25th anniversary. After that, we’re probably going to call it (quits) for awhile. So we’re looking forward to next year and going out on a high note.

Just a few years after their last hiatus ended in 2005, it appears Widespread Panic is planning on taking another open-ended break in 2012. Bad news for Spreadheads everywhere. [via Jambands.com]
