Tour Dates: Festival Of Lights, Vol. 5

It may seem a bit early to start thinking about the holiday season, since we’ve barely even made it to Halloween, but believe it or Hannukah is right around the corner – with it set to begin on the night of December 1. As become tradition, Matisyahu will once again celebrate the eight crazy nights with his annual Festival Of Lights, which is now in its fifth year. The Hasidic reggae superstar is changing things up a bit as he will take the show on road, hitting six cities for a total of nine shows. Matis will kick things off at Brooklyn Bowl on November 29 and has scheduled shows in Clifton Park, NY, Boston, Baltimore, Philly and Portland, ME to round out the run.

If you’re not into a night a night with the Hasidic reggae star, then maybe you’ll be interested in hitting one of these recently announced tours…

Finally, talk about advance notice, but organizers of the Glastonbury have announced that the famed UK festival will not be taking place in 2012 due to a lack of Portaloo buildings (or Porta-Johns as we call them here in the states). With London set to host the Summer Olympics for the first time since 1948,  Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis stated that the amount of available portaloos will be in high demand driving prices up making it cost prohibitive for the festival. Eavis also cited a shortage of police officers, who will be assigned to the games, to properly cover the event.
