AfterNews: Avetts / Umphrey’s / Catskill

Last Sunday night, The Avett Brothers played a post-game concert at Atlanta’s Turner Field and included a fantastic cover of Paul Simon’s Slip Slidin’ Away in their set. Here’s a clip of the entire song…

Also, Umphrey’s McGee has teamed up with flash sale portal Groupees to create an interesting package that goes on sale tomorrow at 10AM CDT and runs for 72 hours. The Umphrey’s Bundle includes the band’s last studio album, Mantis, a live recording of an acoustic show from 2009, a video of the newish tune Linear from last year’s Halloween run and a clip of the Umphrey’s Meets Tool section from UMBowl II. The price? That’s up to you as you get to name the price with a minimum of $5 enforced. If the band sells 10,000 packages, they’ll share a never heard before track.

Finally, the Catskill Chill festival will return to Camp Minglewood in Hancock, NY from September 9 to 11 boasting a lineup that includes 7 Walkers, Conspirator, Perpetual Groove, Dumpstaphunk and Zach Deputy. HT contributor Wyllys and his New York Hustler Ensemble are also slated to perform. Early bird tickets are available now for $95.
