Friday Mix Tape: 25 Years – Summer of ’86

Ah, the Summer of ’86 – the Strawberry/Gooden-led Mets were issuing shit kickings and disturbing the peace in each city they visited, American Greg LeMond made cycling cool again by winning the Tour De France and Postal Worker Patrick Sherrill gunned down 14 of his co-workers before killing himself leading to a round of macabre mailmen jokes.

In the music world, The Monkees became popular again after MTV started airing repeats of the group’s television series, Black Flag played their last show and The Police handed over the title as biggest band in the world to U2 during the Amnesty International Conspiracy of Hope tour. With that in mind, we’ve put together a mix of six hit songs from albums released around the Summer of ’86 to remember those turbulent times…

Track Listing:

Van Halen – Dreams
Kenny Loggins – Danger Zone
Poison – Talk Dirty To Me
Bruce Hornsby – Every Little Kiss
Stevie Winwood – Back In The High Life
Lionel Richie – Dancing On The Ceiling
