Since we first featured Dawes as one of our Blips selections nearly two years ago, the California country-rock revivalists have exploded in popularity thanks in part to relentless touring, song placement in several commercials, and of course the power of lead singer Taylor Goldsmith’s songwriting. Early last month, the band dropped their sophomore effort, Nothing Is Wrong, via ATO Records, and recently stopped by The Late Show With David Letterman to turn in this performance of the album’s lead track Time Spent In Los Angeles…

  1. I’m liking the new record. Definitely closer to their live sound than the first one, but still doesn’t fully document how good I think they are. Looking forward to some more headlining dates.

  2. Definitely dig the new album, and yes it comes pretty close to what they do sound like live – but live they definitely jam out a bit more and you get more of the Dead’s influence on them and less Jackson Browne, The Eagles, etc.
