Picture Show: Disco Biscuits and More @ EMU Music Festival

The second set saw a different kind of Disco Biscuits. The unfinished Mindless Dribble opener definitely saw some jazzy pocket jamming, but things got really interesting when they unexpectedly dropped into the 2011 debut of Astronaut. Definitely a highlight, they played almost the entire song, building up the ending peak and even starting to play the end of the composition before another unexpected segue into I-Man came out of nowhere. The band was really keeping the crowd on their toes and seemed to know that they were mainly playing for their fans.

After leaving I-Man unfinished they wound their way into a huge Astronaut peak one more time before ending the song. An unfinished version of Rock Candy that went back into I-Man was another highlight, with a huge peak going into the ending of the tune. World Is Spinning, which hadn’t been played in almost two years, was a real treat, and one of the better selections they could have made. This second set saw the band get into a comfortable space and lay down the dripping, dark and psychedelic Biscuits that many have come to love. Overall it was an excellent display that left both band and fan spirits soaring leading up to Camp Bisco X.
